Voices from The Song Room Deadly Arts Crew

Primary students explore their Aboriginal identity with Teaching Artist Colin Watego, as they reflect on writing and recording songs in their Deadly Arts program with The Song Room. Deadly Arts programs are co-designed and led by First Nations elders and artists to explore intercultural skills and encourage understanding, belonging and cultural pride through the arts. Students and their school communities reflect on identity and culture to build resilience, respect and understanding. The Song Room is a national arts learning organisation working in partnership with primary schools and communities to provide Australian children with the opportunity to enhance their education, personal development and community involvement. ‘Voices from The Song Room Deadly Arts Crew’ is proudly brought to you by Mission Australia, the Facilitating Partner for Communities for Children, funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services. Special thanks to the Mt Druitt Street University for production support. All songs written, recorded and produced by Colin Watego for The Song Room.
